Register now for Serve with Energy
March 10-13, 2024
Indianapolis, IN

Thanks so much for your service to God through your work at churches and presbyteries. You are appreciated!

Our next Synod of Lincoln Trails in-person COM/CPM Summit is happening in March! We will be gathering at Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis. This is a great opportunity to see another congregation in action. During the time we’re there, you’ll get a glimpse of their beautifully-run orchestra of mission and events in action — including a fine arts ministry, active preschool, men’s Bible fellowship, support groups, and more.

Our gathering will start after dinner on Sunday, March 10th @ 7pm (Eastern) and end no later than Wednesday, March 13th @ noon (Eastern).

Our Time Together

Our 2024 theme is “Serving with ENERGY.” How do our church systems nurture and share energy? Together, we’ll explore how to ignite energy in ministry when our reserves feel depleted and consider how leaders can make energy contagious.

We will approach this theme from multiple angles, including plenary sessions, COM and CPM workshops and breakout sessions, idea-sharing opportunities, and of course in worship. Our time together will be energized, and we want you to leave refreshed and invigorated. SOLT commissioners and a few neighbors to SOLT are welcome too. We are stronger together!

Sunday night is set aside for play and rest — no work! We’ll gather at the hotel for a reception to make new connections nad reconnect with friends.

And, we’re heard your requests. This year’s gathering has been extended to three nights! This will give us space for more relaxed time together in both our work and our relationship building — giving time for guided conversations, meals together, breaks, and the hospitality gatherings that SOLT is known for. (And note: We are being intentional about meeting the needs of introverts, extrovers, and those in between.)

Participants

Join your peers and make new friends from the eight presbyteries of SOLT. In total, you will be joined by about 75 colleagues from throughout the synod and beyond. That’s a lot of heart, mind and soul! Come for learning, networking, sharing best practices and great ideas. Leave with more knowledge and understanding, better relationships, and more intention and direction for your Christian service in 2024.

New this year: We are including our stated synod assembly meeting with this gathering. All synod commissioners are invited to participate in the full gathering! We anticipate the synod meeting portion of the gathering to occur on Monday.

Keynote Leadership

Our keynote speaker is Corey Schlosser-Hall. Corey is the Presbyterian Mission Agency’s Deputy Executive Director of Vision, Rebuilding and Innovation. Corey is an amazing soul! He is deeply aware that we are living in both “a fertile and tenuous time.” As a ruling elder, Corey has a passion for all people called to serve the twenty-first century church. One of Corey’s favorite parts of ministry is “helping the church re-invent itself for the kingdom of God.”

Corey will guide us though a discussion of energy that is individual, interactive, and systemic. Together, we’ll craft a way of life that allows for an ongoing expressions and renewal of energy. Energy is a promise we make in our ordination vows (Will you pray for and seek to serve the people with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love?). Having “sustainable” energy means that you can make it to Sunday — but harnessing “optimal” energy means that we not only can engage the world, but change it.
